Heber C. Kimball and others left Ohio for England, the first missionary effort to extend beyond North America. (2)

[Joseph Smith] Kirtland, Ohio. Due to sickness, Joseph Smith was unable to raise his head from his pillow to bid farewell to a group of missionaries. (3)

-- June 14, 1837
[Joseph Smith] Kirtland, Ohio. After Joseph Smith had been extremely sick and weak for a few days, Dr. Levi Richards attended to him, and the Prophet regained his strength immediately. (3)

In this month Heber C. Kimball, O. Hyde and W. Richards were set apart for a mission to England. This was the first foreign mission of the Church. (4)

[Joseph Smith] Kirtland, Ohio. Joseph Smith received Doctrine & Covenants 112, a revelation to Thomas B. Marsh about his duties as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. (3)

[Joseph Smith] Revelation on duties of Twelve Apostles and their president, Thomas B. Marsh, Kirtland. (7)

[Joseph Smith] Kirtland, Ohio. On their journey to visit the Saints in Canada, Joseph Smith, Sidney Rigdon, and Thomas B. Marsh were detained all day in Painesville, Ohio, because of malicious lawsuits. (3)
