[Apostle Wilford Woodruff Journal] From 1869 to 1876, Wilford Woodruff engaged in a large amount of temple work, recording the numbers of ordinances completed for each of those days in his journal. It is common to see journal entries for a day that speak of nothing but doing such ordinances, or may perhap include a few other minor details. Most of the ordinances done were baptisms for the dead.
Rather that list all of these similar journal entries separately in the chronology, I've compiled the majority of them into this entry, to provide scope for how much time and energy this involved. Other journal entries that provide additional context, special situations or other useful information are included in the standard chronology.
Aug 31, 1869 31 I was Baptized to day for Ten of my Dead Friends in the font in the Endowment House. Samuel Smith Baptized. D H. Wells & Joseph F Smith officiated in Confirming. Joseph F Smith was Mouth. At the Same time Phebe W Woodruff was Baptized for Seven of our Dead Friends. See record in this Journal.

Jun 16, 1875 16 I spent the day in the Endowment House. We gave Endowments Baptized 646. D H Wells sealed 62 Couple & W Woodruff 116 Couple for the dead the most I ever done in one day in my life. I was vary weary when I got through 178 Cealing.
