-- Blessing of Mariah Crandall born in Thurman Warren County N. Y. aged 23 years October 9th 1835
My young Sister in the name of Jesus Christ the great Redeemer and by the authority of the Priesthood, which I have received from God, I lay my hands on thy head for the Spiritual and temporal benefit of thee and thy posterity. Inasmuch as thou keepest the commandments of God thou shalt be blessed with long life. Thou shalt be blessed with a companion thou shalt raise up children who shall be strong in the faith of the gospel, one of them shall be filled with the Holy Ghost at 8 years of age and shall speak with tongues and prophecy . They shall be strong men and women in Christ Jesus.
Thou shalt stand on the earth when Jesus comes in the Clouds of heaven. If thou livest up to thy privileges. Thou shalt have forty days notice of the coming of the Saviour. ... (1)

Oliver Cowdery returns from Philadelphia with plates to print bank notes. Orson Hyde returns with news that the Ohio legislature would not grant a charter for the Kirtland Safety Society bank. Reynolds Cahoon confirms Willard Richards. Lyman Sherman sings in tongues and Willard understands. Eliza R. Snow resumes teaching school for young ladies and boards with the Smith family. (2)

[Wilford Woodruff Journal] 5th I repaired to the house of the Lord for a Prayer meeting at 2 oclock PM. We had a good time. One man gave us an account of the general gathering of Israel in the gift of tongues. I interpreted the Substance of the same. (3)

[Patriarchal Blessings] Patriarchal Blessing of John Lyons given by Joseph Smith, Sr. on January 6, 1837... Thou shalt speak with tongues and have the power of interpritation [interpretation] and inasmuch as thou art faithful thou shalt hear the voice of God speaking out of the heavens and shalt have the administration of angels. Thou shalt receive a crown of righteousness and shalt stand in Zion as the saviour of the people. Thou art forty and one years old and thou shalt live forty and four years more, if faithful and shall stand upon the earth in the last days and see it cleansed from wickedness and shall see the saviour come to Zion with power and great glory. ... [Wilford Woodruff Journal] ... Sunday Went up to the house of the Lord to worship. We had an interesting meeting. Their was about fifteen hundred people assembled. Their was two discourses deliverd from the Aaronic Priesthood one from Councellor Knight & the other from Priest Willey. Priest Willey had much of the Spirit of God in Preaching to the Church after breaking bread Elder Sherman Sung in the gift of tongues & pro claimed great & marvelous things while clothed upon by the power & spirit of God. Elder Smoot for the first time after his sickness Also attended meeting.
I spent the evening with Priest Turpin at Bishop Whitney's. Had a vary happy time in speaking Singing hearing & interpeting tongues & in prayer with the family. (3)
