Church President John Taylor dies in Kaysville Utah on this day 1887 aged 78. He served for more than 48 years as a General Authority in the Church (1)

John Taylor passes away, leaving Wilford Woodruff to assume control of the church. (2)

[John Taylor] At age 78, dies in the Thomas Roueché home in Kaysville, Utah. During his administration, Church membership reached over 150,000. (3)
