John D. Lee executed for his participation in Mountain Meadows Massacre. (3)

[U.S. Religious History] John Doyle Lee, a Mormon fanatic, was executed by a firing squad, Lee had masterminded a massacre of Arkansas Methodist emigrants in 1857. In the "Mountain Meadows Massacre," a wagon train of 127 died at Mountain Meadows (near Cedar City), Utah. (4)
