[Joseph Smith] Chariton, Missouri. On the banks of the Missouri River, Joseph Smith had a chance meeting with several elders who were on their way to the land of Zion, and he received Doctrine & Covenants 62, a revelation concerning their journey. (1)

[Revelations] Chariton, Missouri. Doctrine and Covenants 62. For John Murdock, Hyrum Smith, Harvey Whitlock, and David Whitmer. Joseph and his companions happened upon these four in Chariton on August 13. Their missions are not finished, but they may go to Zion and hold a meeting before returning to their labors.

[Joseph Smith] Kirtland, Ohio. While traveling to Colesville, New York, from Harmony, Pennsylvania, Joseph Smith and his company were miraculously delivered from their enemies, who were blinded and unable to identify them. (1)

[Joseph Smith] Kirtland, Ohio. In response to the anxiety of the Saints, Joseph Smith received Doctrine & Covenants 63, a revelation concerning the gathering of the Saints and the purchase of land. (1)

[Revelations] Kirtland, Ohio. Doctrine and Covenants 63. The Lord saves and destroys whom he wants. Do not seek after signs-signs follow faith. Adulterers confess or be exposed. The lake of fire and brimstone-the second death. Earth will be transfigured. The living will live to the usual age and die, then be transfigured in the twinkling of an eye. Gather to Zion, but not hastily-Joseph to approve those who go. Buy land there so you don't anger the residents. Don't try to take it by force. The Lord is angry with the wicked. He will come down and burn them up. Ordain N. K. Whitney agent. Time of warning. Be careful how you use the name of the Lord. Repent. Joseph and Sidney to be led by the Spirit in their search for homes.

[Joseph Smith] Kirtland, Ohio. Joseph Smith received Doctrine & Covenants 64, a revelation containing the Lords law of forgiveness and the warning, he that is tithed shall not be burned. (1)

[Revelations] Kirtland, Ohio. Doctrine and Covenants 64. Keys of the mysteries of the kingdom stay with Joseph as long as he obeys. He has sinned, but is forgiven. He has been unjustly accused. Bring unrepentant before the church where they can repent or be cut off. I was angry with Ezra Booth and Isaac Morley, but I have forgiven Isaac. Frederick doesn't need to sell his farm, Newel to keep his business. Expect to stay in Kirtland for five years, then all may go to Zion. Don't go into debt. Imposters will be exposed. Zion will judge the nations. All nations will seek it, and fear it.

[Joseph Smith] Kirtland, Ohio. Joseph Smith moved with his family to Hiram, Ohio, to live with John and Alice Johnson. (1)

[Lucy Mack Smith] Joseph Jr. and family move into the John Johnson home in Hiram, Ohio (about thirty miles southeast of Kirtland), where he and Sidney Rigdon work on translating the Bible. A conference authorizes W. W. Phelps to buy a press and type for the Evening and the Morning Star, to be published at Independence. (3)

[Joseph Smith] Kirtland, Ohio. Joseph Smith completed Matthew 26:123 in his work on the inspired translation of the Bible. (1)

[Heber C. Kimball] Joins Baptist church. (7)

[Joseph Smith] Hiram, Ohio. Joseph Smith received Doctrine & Covenants 65, a revelation on the Lords Prayer, in which the Lord confirmed that the keys of the kingdom of God were established upon the earth so that the kingdom of heaven may come. (1)

[Joseph Smith] Hiram, Ohio. At a conference at John Johnsons, Joseph Smith taught the brethren about the ancient manner of instructing meetings. (1)

-- October 25, 1831
[Joseph Smith] Orange, Ohio. Joseph Smith attended a follow-up to the conference held on October 11 and received Doctrine & Covenants 66, a revelation giving conditional blessings to William E. McLellin and calling Samuel H. Smith to preach the gospel. (1)

[Joseph Smith] Hiram, Ohio. En route from Orange, Ohio, to Hiram, Joseph Smith healed William McLellins ankle. (1)

-- 29 Oct. 1831
[Lucy Mack Smith] Joseph Jr. receives a revelation at Hiram, Ohio, for Samuel Smith and William E. McLellin to serve a mission. (3)
