[Revelations] Kirtland, Ohio. Doctrine and Covenants 88:1-126. "The Olive Leaf. " Three kingdoms (glories) compared to the sun, moon, stars. Light of Christ is truth. Spirit + body = soul. Celestial, terrestrial, telestial kingdoms. Natural law. Parable of servants beginning work at different times. Seek, ask, knock (for the right things). Sanctify yourself and see God. Idle thoughts and excess laughter. Call a solemn assembly. Missionary preparation. Cataclysms soon. The great church, mother of abominations. Second coming, resurrection, 7 trumps and angels. Best books. Light-mindedness and laughter, right behavior.
Received at a conference of High Priests assembled in the translating room to obtain a revelation. Minutes of December 27-28, 1832.

[Joseph Smith] Kirtland, Ohio. Joseph Smith received portions of Doctrine & Covenants 88, a revelation often known as the Olive Leaf, and which he called the Lords message of peace to us. Other portions of this revelation were received on December 27, 1832 and January 3, 1833. (2)

[Lucy Mack Smith] Jared Carter goes on a mission to Michigan where he baptizes many of the people whom Lucy taught in the summer of 1831. (This may be a second mission since David Dort's record shows that he was baptized in 1831; however, Samuel Bent, the Presbyterian deacon, was baptized in January 1833.) (7)

This revelation was edited and appended to the December 27, 1832 revelation (D&C 88:1-126) in 1835 Doctrine and Covenants 7.

[Joseph Smith] Kirtland, Ohio. In a letter to newspaper editor N. C. Saxton, Joseph Smith taught about the gathering of Israel and prophesied of pestilence and civil war. (2)

[Joseph Smith] Kirtland, Ohio. In a letter to William W. Phelps containing the text of the revelation in Doctrine & Covenants 88, Joseph Smith talked of the great blessings awaiting the Saints but also prophesied that they would be driven from Missouri if they persisted in iniquity. (2)
