The following notice in the Evening News
Excommunication
Charges having been preferred against Albert Carrington, a full and patient hearing was had before the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, where the following decision was unanimously adopted.
That Albert Carrington be excommunicated from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints for the crimes of Lewd and Lascivious conduct and adultry. W. Woodruff, Lorenzo Snow, Erastus Snow, Franklin D. Richards, Brigham Young, Moses Thatcher, Francis M. Lyman, John Henry Smith, Heber J. Grant, John W. Taylor and Councilor John W. Young. (1)

Deputy Marshalls went to Brigham City this morning and arrested Apostle Lorenzo Snow. O. F. Vandercook led the posse. (1)

[Apostle Wilford Woodruff Journal] 20 I overhalled my trunk of records to day. I found all 3 of my autobyographs & Journals together.
I was Just informed that Lorenzo Snow was arested at Brigham City. I went to Judge Elias Smith & spent the night. I had quite a conversation with Brother Smith. (2)

(Lorenzo Snow) : Returning from a mission among Indian tribes in the Northwest, Snow was arrested for unlawful cohabitation. After a trial and unsuccessful appeals, the seventy-two-year-old leader was taken to the Utah Territorial Penitentiary on March 12, 1886. (3)

Lorenzo Snow plead not guilty in the First District Court, in Ogden, and was admitted to bail. (4)

After two days' trial in the First District Court, at Ogden, the jury returned a verdict of guilty against Lorenzo Snow for u.c. [Unlawful Cohabitation, I.E. living with a polygamous wife] in 1885, notwithstanding the evidence introduced had proven him innocent. (4)
