[Revelations] Fayette, New York. Doctrine and Covenants 17. Instructions to the Three Witnesses prior to their viewing the Book of Mormon plates. Must have faith.
In October 1831 Ezra Booth saw this revelation while visiting Missouri with Joseph and other leaders the preceding summer. Ezra Booth Letters (1-3).

[Lucy Mack Smith] Jesse Smith, answering a letter from his nephew Hyrum Smith, violently repudiates Mormonism's claims and calls "a fool story" the report that Joseph Sr. has a "wand or rod" like the Egyptian magicians. (2)
