[Revelations] Hiram, Ohio. Doctrine and Covenants 66. William E. McLellin (h) met Joseph at the conference in Orange a few days earlier (Minutes of October 25-26, 1831) and went home with him that day. Joseph received this revelation for William a few days later. He is to take Samuel H. Smith with him on a mission to the East.
William E. McLellin journal gives the October 29 date; heading: This day the Lord condecended to hear my prayr and give me a revelation of his will, through his prophet or seer (Joseph) -And these are the words which I wrote from his mouth, saying,

[Joseph Smith] Joseph has compiled all of the revelations he has received so far and the members of the Church decide to print them under the name Book of Commandments. This book is now known as the Doctrine and Covenants. (6)

[Revelations] Hiram, Ohio. Doctrine and Covenants 1. Preface to Lord's commandments. Sends disciples out to warn the world to repent. He comes soon and will destroy the wicked. Lord called Joseph, gave him commandments , so everlasting covenant could be established, gave power to translate Book of Mormon. Only true and living church. Disciples speak for the Lord. Wars coming soon when the devil will have power over his dominion. The Lord will dwell with the righteous and come down in judgment on the wicked. Study the book. It is true, won't fail. Voice of the Lord or his servants-it is the same.
Received during the break between sessions on the first day of conference convened to discuss the publication of the Book of Commandments.

[Revelations] Hiram, Ohio. Doctrine and Covenants 68. Orson Hyde, the Johnson brothers, and William E. McLellin are called on missions. Inspired speech of priesthood holders is scripture. Believe and be baptized or be damned. Sealing to eternal life. Other bishops. Parents to teach children. Baptize at 8. Idlers in Zion, greed. Those who don't pray should be called before the bishop.
1835 revisions include the authority of the First Presidency over bishops, Melchizedek priesthood, and the prerogatives of the literal descendants of Aaron.
Evening and Morning Star, October 1832, heading: "A Revelation, Given November, 1831. " (It is not unusual for the paper to printed late. In this case, the October issue was printed after a November revelation was received in Ohio. Travel between the two points usually took a month. ).

[Revelations] Kirtland, Ohio. Doctrine and Covenants 67. Elders did not have sufficient faith to receive a witness of Joseph's revelations. Challenge to write one as good as Joseph's weakest. They know there is nothing unrighteous in the revelations, and since the Father is the source of righteousness, they must be true. If they will put themselves right with God, they will see him-spiritually, not naturally, for mortals must be quickened by the Spirit in order to endure His presence. They aren't ready for that yet-or for the ministering of angels-but they should be patient until they attain perfection and not turn back.
