Pioneer day was celebrated at Wandermere Park under the auspices of the Daughters of the Pioneers. Senator Reed Smoot master of ceremonies. Senator Smoot delivered a nice oration.
68 of the Pioneers of 1847 were present, 4 members of the Mormon Battalion, one person born on the ship Brooklyn on its trip around the horn.
I took [wife] Josephine and Arzella and Josephine and went out to Saltair and had a bath. My son George A. is stoping at Saltair. He is improving. (1)
