[Apostle Franklin D. Richards Diary] Geo[rge] Q. Cannon, Lorenzo Snow, F. D. Richards, Moses Thatcher, Heber J. Grant, John W. Taylor were together in the President's office Counseling about Ogden Herald all willing to stand by GQC to am[oun]t of $2,000 if he thought best also an am[oun]t for present necessities of Mexican colony $500 to be remitted to Helaman Pratt immediately at Mexico. Pres[iden]t Geo[rge] Q. Cannon prayed fervently for the success of the convention and the health of Pres[iden]t John Taylor. Adjourned at 5 pm

The Delegates having completed their labors in convention came in by devious ways to avoid exposure & were addressed by each of the Apostles preset advising procedure in their various districts to secure strongest possible vote. Absentees Kimball, Haybourne, Hills, Christensen and C. Collett Apostles were appointed to visit various conferences I to Weber, Utah, Wasatch & Juab. F. S. Richards, G. Wooley, W. W. Ritter to go to Washington & ask admission to the Union. (1)


[Apostle Heber J. Grant Diary] Called at my office for a few minutes and at 9:45 went to the office of President Taylor, where I met George Q. Cannon, Lorenzo Snow, Franklin D. Richards, Moses Thatcher, John W. Taylor, and William B. Preston. Brother Cannon stated that he had called the meeting together for the purposes of discussing the propriety of holding a meeting with the Delegates to the Constitutional Convention. ... (2)
