[Apostle John Henry Smith] The Directors of the Coop. W. & M. Co. met at 3 p.m. and heard monthly reports. I drew dividend from Z.C.M.I. $360.00. I paid interest at Deseret Savings bank $227.32, Tithing $30.00. I paid Cutler Bros. on account $30.00. I bot seven apple trees. I paid shoemaker bill $2.70. I took a drive out to the Park. (1)

[Apostle John Henry Smith] I have paid $1,250.00 Sugar note, $639.13 on Minning Stock. I paid $100.00 tithing. (1)

[Apostle John Henry Smith] My wife Sarah and I went to Spanish Fork. The Coop. Store there has declaired its annual dividend. Mine was $298.75. I paid $30 tithing, our old account of $13.82. I paid Sarah F. in goods $72.57 and Josephine $76.55 in the same. I spent for my mother for a bed room set $10.00, dress patern $6.60. Myself Hat $2.65. Still due me $86.35. We returned home. (1)

[Apostle Anthony Ivins] Salt Lake Solomn Assembly: ". . . Choir sang -- Heber J. Grant had always paid his tithing with pleasure. Two dollars is spent in breaking the Word of Wisdom for every dollar paid in tithing -- Sacrement was administered by Bishops Preston and Burton. . . ." (2)
